Dr. Ian Germani, History Professor at the University of Regina, considers five recently published works by historians on the origins of WWI. The problem of assessing responsibility for the outbreak of war remains deeply controversial, with some historians emphasizing the roles of Germany and Austria-Hungary, and others those of France and Russia. A century later after the event, the outbreak of WWI still has lessons to teach us.
