Many Revelations, Many Voices: Religion, the Late Medieval University, and Some Challenges for Today Presented by Dr. Paul Shore “Religious experience played a key role in the life of the late medieval university. But how can we talk about this phenomenon, which resists quantification and must often be interpolated from surviving records? This talk will explore the ways choral music, theological controversy, modes of preaching, clerical formation and the growth of professional training all shaped the religious aspects of life in European universities of the 14th and 15th centuries, with implications that are still with us today.”
