The Kasisi Agricultural Training Centre in Zambia was founded 40 years ago by Canadian Jesuit Br. Paul Desmarais. What began as a center of conventional (institutional) agriculture, has evolved into a leading center in sustainable organic agriculture, which works with thousands of small scale farmers. Br. Paul will share how this journey has taken shape, why organic farming is the way to a sustainable future for the small scale farmers he works with, and the challenges that conventional farming and seed harmonization pose for rural farmers in Zambia.
