Interested in helping support students successfully transition from Saskatchewan high schools to the University of Regina? You’re invited to attend an event hosted by the University-School Divisions Transition Management Committee, “Working Together to Promote Transition Success for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Students: Let’s Focus on Math and Science!” This event will take place Tuesday, May 6, 8:30 a.m. -3 p.m. in the First Nations University Veterans’ Memorial Tipi (Atrium). Coffee and refreshments will be served, and a sandwich lunch will be provided (sponsored by the U of R Centre for Teaching and Learning). The event features panels of students and support persons sharing their perspectives on successful transition, with a focus on Aboriginal student groups and maths/science subject areas. After lunch, attendees will have the opportunity to discuss their ideas, problems, and solutions in small groups, before reconvening to share success strategies. Space is limited.
