Lois & Thomas Glenn Visiting Artist in Music

The 2016 Glenn Visiting Artist in the Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance is Quasar Saxophone Quartet of Montreal. Their concert aimed at the general public will feature works in a wide variety of styles and textures–two excerpts from J. S. Bach’s The Art of Fugue; the first movement of Alexander Glazounov’s Quatuor, Op. 109; Michel Frigon’s Geyser Ghetto (2009); and Walter Boudreau’s arrangements of Frank Zappa works Black Page (1976) and Zoomby Woof (1984)–followed by two works that combine acoustic instruments with one or more of digital sound, projected live images and live electronics.
