Senator Lillian Eva Quan Dyck is a member of the George Gordon First Nation in Saskatchewan, and a first generation Chinese Canadian. Dr. Dyck is a role model in Canada’s scientific community. She retired from the University of Saskatchewan, where she was a Full Professor in the Neuropsychiatry Research Unit, Department of Psychiatry and served as Associate Dean at the College of Graduate Studies & Research. Dr. Dyck is sitting in the Senate as a member of the Liberal Party of Canada, and is Deputy Chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Aboriginal Peoples. Senator Lillian Dyck is well-known as an advocate for women and Aboriginal people. She has shown great determination in ensuring that other members of Senate take a serious look at the issues of Missing and Murdered Aboriginal Girls and Women in Canada.
