Presenter: Darryl Hunter, Faculty of Education, University of Regina ABSTRACT: Statistical interpretation bridges a gap between the art and science of administration. The presentation reports on a recently-completed study of Saskatchewan school principals’ meanings for the statistical average. Principals’ reasoning patterns are depicted, their intentions when asking questions of teachers, students and parents are described, and implications for both leadership preparation and educational practice are drawn. SIDRU Seminars provide a forum for educators and students to discuss educational issues and research and their implications for teaching and learning. Everyone is welcome. Coffee and cookies are provided. No registration is required.
