Greetings! The Faculty of Nursing would like to invite you to celebrate National Nursing Week, May 12-16. This year’s theme is Nursing: A Leading Force for Change. We have a few things planned over the week, please see below for the schedule of events. All of the events will take place in the RIC Atrium. Monday, May 12 at 12:00 pm – We will be kicking off the week by handing out cupcakes in honour of the 194th birthday of Florence Nightingale, considered by many as the founder of modern nursing. Please stop by, grab a treat, and view historical nursing artifacts that will be on display. Tuesday, May 13 at 12:00 pm – Dr. Joan Wagner, will present her research in a presentation entitled “Spirit at Work and Hope Among the Ruins: Registered Nurses’ Covenant of Care”. There will also be a poster presentation about the field of nursing. Thursday, May 15 at 12:00 pm – Dr. Glenn Donnely’s PhD student, Jodie Bigalky, will be presenting her work. Her presentation is titled “A Journey Through Pregnancy and Addiction”. Friday, May 16 at 11:15 am – Cindy Kuster-Orban will join her nursing students to present their work on Community
