Creative Writing Open House: Writing Matters

We welcome you to the third annual Creative Writing Open House, hosted by creative writing faculty and students at the University of Regina. The event will be held at Luther College (Room 207) on November 8, starting at 12:00 p.m. and running all day. The event will feature talks by professional writers on a variety of topics, including: – Where and how to submit your work – Handling the sting of rejection (we’ve all been there!) – Writing fantasy and science fiction – Working with small presses – How to write creative non-fiction No previous experience in creative writing is required. Our series of talks will guide you through various aspects of the writing process, offering new strategies for writing about the world around you, as well as suggestions for crafting entirely new worlds. These talks are designed to stimulate your imagination, and to produce a vital discussion about creativity that crosses boundaries and genres. The event will feature a book table with new titles published by local writers. Coffee and snacks will be provided.
