Presenters: Katia Hildebrandt and Alec Couros, Faculty of Education, University of Regina ABSTRACT: In this SIDRU session, we discuss #DCMOOC, a massive open online course about digital citizenship that we facilitated in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education. We include an exploration of ways in which we might tap into the affordances of these open, connected courses in the Faculty of Education. In addition, we explore the Ministry’s new emphasis on digital citizenship in schools and discuss ways that we can help pre-service teachers in our faculty to develop the digital competencies that they will require in order to implement the new digital citizenship guidelines when they begin their teaching careers. SIDRU Seminars provide a forum for educators and students to discuss educational issues and research and their implications for teaching and learning. Everyone is welcome. Coffee and cookies are provided. No registration is required.

In my opinion, he only may be truly said to live and enjoy his being who is engaged in some laudable pursuit, and acquires a name by some illustrious action, or useful art.
