On May 21st and May 22nd, approximately 100 Grade 9 students from local school divisions will participate in the Discovering Your Direction student conference at the University of Regina, First Nations University and Federated Colleges. Students will explore the campuses and discover the many exciting options a university education can provide. They will participate in breakout sessions delivered by our faculty and learn from current university students about the challenges and successes of university. Discovering Your Direction is an initiative of the University-School Divisions Transition Management Committee. This committee promotes a shared responsibility in the successful transition of students from high school to university. This conference helps achieve the committee’s goal that all students be encouraged to explore a post-secondary education. The conference organizers hope to show that university is an exciting place to learn; is relevant to the diverse interests of young students; and is a welcoming environment to all.
