2016 World Broomball Championships

Description: The 2016 World Broomball Championships are coming to Regina November 1-5, 2016 and we are looking for you!  That's right we need the amazing volunteers from this city to step up and help us run an extraordinary event that the sport of Broomball has never seen before!  We are looking for 200 or more volunteers. There are a large variety of areas that we need assistance in!  We are asking that the volunteers pay a small fee of $25 (for their jacket and shirt), and commit to 12 hours minimum for the week!  We greatly appreciate it and we know Saskatchewan especially Regina has great volunteers.

Regina Red Sox Baseball Game Day Volunteers

Description: The Red Sox are looking for volunteers to help out on game days. Duties may include working at the gate, selling 50/50 tickets,ushering and hosting teams/groups. Evening Game times are 7:00 PM with some Sunday games at 2:00 PM!

Irish Pavilion @ Regina Mosaic Culture of Festivals

Description: Come join us at the Irish Pavilion the last week in May/first week in June. Some of the Volunteer opportunities include security, set up and take down, clean up, passport table, selling tickets, working the bar or food serving areas. A few hours of your time and a whole lot of entertainment to be seen or involved with while you are at our pavilion.

Main Event Site Positions

Our main event site requires volunteers to fill various positions. Volunteers will be expected to arrive a few hours before the event begins and stay until the event is finished. Bag Check (2 positions): Volunteers will help participants check their bags at the designated bag check area, and monitor the bag check area during the event. Start/Finish Line (6 positions): Volunteers will help with the flow of the entrances and exits around the Start/Finish line. In addition, they will assist in the distribution of water and finisher’s bracelets. Swag Bag Distributer (4 positions): Volunteers at the Swag Bag area will assist in the distribution of Swag Bags to all participants at the end of the event. Photo Wall (2 positions): Volunteers positioned at these stations will assist the photographer by encouraging participants to dress up and take photos at the photo wall.

On-Course Volunteer Positions

Course Marshal (20 positions): Volunteers will be spread throughout the course to provide athletes with directions and will act as our primary cheerleaders and motivators. Water Stations (18 positions): Volunteers will assist in the set-up of their designated water station, and will hand out water to participants as they pass the station.

YMCA of Regina Plusone Mentoring: Become a Mentor, Change a Youth's Life

Description: YMCA of Regina Plusone Mentoring is a new community-based for youth aged 10-17 who are experiencing challenges in their social and academic development. These youth are referred to the program by community partners and are matched with adult volunteers to help them engage in capacity building activities of the course of 1-year. Pairs are matched based on common interests, hobbies, as well as the mentee's goals and the mentors capacity to help the youth in their specific goal-attainment. The latter brings us here: we are looking for adult volunteer mentors that would love to be a positive influence in a Youths life. General Information:
  • 1-year commitment: first six months - meet with mentee weekly for 2-3 hours; last six months - meet with mentee twice a month.
  • Background/Reference Checks Required.
  • Specialized training beforehand (6-8 hours including child protection training).
  • Program has a cap of 40 mentor-mentee relationships going at once. Allows for relationship to be coached and supported well by Program Facilitators.
  • Program takes place at one of our local YMCA of Regina Facilities.
