Opportunity Description:

The Assistant Golf Coach will serve in a volunteer capacity, working with the lead coach at a program location (golf course) to assist with the delivery of First Tee Programming. They will work to ensure that locations, participants, and participant parents/guardians have all the tools they need to grow and flourish.

 

They will work with the Lead Coach at the Program Location to:

• Assist in the delivery of First Tee at the Program Location (golf facility);
• Assist with the set-up and clean up of equipment
• Advocate and promote the benefits of First Tee to participants and parents.
• Empower kids and teens to engage in volunteer and fundraising activities.
• Provide overall guidance and mentorship to participants.

 

Skills Required:

• Must be friendly and approachable
• Experience working with children an asset, but not required
• Experience playing golf an asset, but not required
• Must complete required First Tee Assistant Coach Training (Free)
• Must complete a satisfactory criminal record check and child abuse registry check (cost covered by organization)

Time Commitment:

• Program sessions are held in evenings and weekends throughout the golf season (May-September) – Specific dates TBD
• A typical shift would be two 1-hour sessions delivered in succession to different age groups.
• There will be opportunity to attend and assist with special events such as the Aces for First Tee tournament, Try- Golf Days, and Community Celebration Events.
