Latin Roots Cultural Project is a non-profit organization with the mission to promote the Latin-American culture and Spanish language in Saskatchewan among the Latino community and every person interested in learning about our beautiful culture.

We need volunteers for our Summer with Amigos Day Camp! Summer with Amigos is a day camp for children aged 6 to 9, we will do many outdoor activities and games, indoor arts & crafts, fun time on a spray pad all while kids learn and practice basic Spanish words and phrases! If you know Spanish, you are enthusiastic and patient and you like to work with young children then this opportunity is for you!

Requirements:

• Desire and ability to work with children between the ages of 6-9 years.

• Ability to work outdoors and able to stand for at least 4 hours.

• Knowledge of the Spanish language at least at a basic level.

• Friendly, fun, caring, patient and committed to providing an exceptional experience for our summer campers.

• Background/police check required for volunteers older than 18 years old.

• Be at least 16 years old by start of summer camp.

• Orientation required.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work closely with other camp counsellors and directors to provide a fun and safe environment for campers.

• Set a good example, provide leadership and participate in camp activities, sharing enthusiasm for each activity.

• Encouraging respect among campers.

• Supervise campers during all camp activities, breaks, meals.

• Other duties as assigned.

​Volunteer shifts:

Volunteers may choose the weeks they are available to volunteer with us and can choose between a morning, afternoon or full day shifts based on their availability.

• Morning Shift: 8:30am -12:30 pm

• Afternoon Shift: 12:30pm to 4:30 pm

• Full Day Shift: 8:30am to 4:30 pm
