About the Walk

The Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History takes place in over 40 locations in Canada including Regina.  We rely on the energy, passion and skill of our generous volunteer to help make a difference in communities from coast-to-coast.  If you have a few hours a week in the months leading up to Walk Day on Sunday, May 26th, 2024 -we want to hear from you!

Position Overview

The Fundraising and Sponsorship Lead is responsible for the creation and implementation of a fundraising and recruitment plan for the Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History taking place in Regina.  The goal is to ensure that the Walk meets its participation and fundraising goals, and minimizes expenses through in-kind donations and sponsorships.

Responsibilities

  • Work with other committee members & CF Canada staff to source local cash sponsorship by selling route, checkpoints and Start/Finish location sponsorships
  • Secure local product and service donations (food, refreshments, equipment rental, first aid, etc.)
  • Adhere to the sponsorship guidelines and ensure that CF Canada is aware of any regional or national organizations that you may be approaching
  • Source prizes for the top fundraiser, top teams and items for gift bags (if applicable)
  • Send out proposals to secure new sponsorships
  • Approach local radio and TV stations and newspapers for sponsorship
  • Make reminder calls to sponsors to fulfill the sponsorship agreement
  • Work in conjunction with your Walk Chair/CF Staff to send out post-event thank you letters to all sponsors
  • Liaise with sponsors on event day
  • Working with fellow committee members, coordinate sponsor banner placements
