Lakeview Community Association (LCA) is seeking a volunteer Treasurer, who serves as an Executive Officer of the LCA Board. Duties include the following: receive and disburse funds on behalf of LCA as approved by the board; maintaining a digital record of all financial transactions (journal entries, monthly reconciliations); maintain a binder for each fiscal year (Sept 1 – Aug 31) of paper copies of all financial transactions; submit the digital record and binder record of fiscal year transactions to the accountant for review and to the LCA Board for discussion and approval at the AGM; file the annual financial report with ISC; formulate and present a budget proposal for the next fiscal year at the AGM; attend LCA Board monthly meetings, present financial reports as needed, and answer board and committee members’ questions related to LCA’s financial position and practices; make bank deposits; work closely with the programs coordinator to plan program schedules and fees and # of program participants and review regularly all online program registrations; assist with in-person program registrations as needed; receive sign booking invoices from the sign coordinator and track payments; work closely with board and committee members on all LCA projects. Qualifications: expertise in MS Excel and Word; understanding of standard bookkeeping procedures; care and diligence in maintaining monthly and annual financial records; great communication and collaboration skills; financial and personal trustworthiness as demonstrated by a criminal record check, three references that speak to character and financial understanding, and in oversight by the LCA Board Chair and outgoing Treasurer. The outgoing Treasurer will train and mentor the incoming Treasure over one fiscal year.
