The Role of Indigenous Feminism in Deconstructing Legislated Identity

Dr. Carrie Bourassa (Professor of Indigenous Health Studies at FNUniv and Special Advisor to the President, Research) will discuss how the Indian Act continues to impact the identity of Indigenous people and particularly Indigenous women in Canada. She will focus her talk on how Indigenous Feminism can help to deconstruct colonial identities and assist with the reclamation and healing process for indigenous women.
