A public forum on the subject of academic freedom will take place: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014 Classroom Building 112 The event will feature: – opening remarks by President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vianne Timmons – a keynote address by Dr. Michael Atkinson, Executive Director of the Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy – a keynote address by Dr. James Turk, Executive Director of the Canadian Association of University Teachers – a panel discussion involving Dr. Michael Trussler (department of English), Dr. Judy White (Faculty of Social Work) and Dr. Marc Spooner (Faculty of Education) The forum will be moderated by Dr. Thomas Hadjistavropoulos of the department of Psychology, and will provide the opportunity for faculty, staff, students and members of the public to engage in discussion with the participants. All are welcome, and a reception will follow.
