Department of History Colloquium: “Libraries and Innovation” Presented by Robert Thomas Libraries have continued to experiment with new information management systems and technological change for well over a century. From Melville Dewey’s breaking of the hold of shelf order, the invention of the catalogue card, to microfilm and later computer automation libraries have continued to experiment with innovative practices. Robert Thomas will give an introduction to this innovation and what the future of libraries may look like. Special reference will be made to the Regina College, University of Saskatchewan – Regina Campus and University of Regina library system. Everyone is welcome to attend!
