WestGrid 2014 Seminar Series – Responding to Canada’s Research Computing Needs

The WestGrid Seminar Series hosts talks and tutorials on how to use WestGrid and Compute Canada resources. It also showcases examples of research projects that are supported by high performance computing. Sessions range in length from 30 minutes to an hour and are video-conferenced to participating institutions. In September last year, Compute Canada (CC) surveyed the Canadian research community to determine how research computing should be planned for and provided over the next five years. In this talk, Jonathan Dursi, CC’s Chief Technology Officer, will share some of the key findings of that national survey and explain how the results will be factored into CC’s strategic plan.
