About the Walk

The Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History takes place in over 40 locations in Canada including Regina.  We rely on the energy, passion and skill of our generous volunteer to help make a difference in communities from coast-to-coast.  If you have a few hours a week in the months leading up to Walk Day on Sunday, May 26th, 2024 – we want to hear from you!

Position Overview

The Volunteer Lead is responsible for the volunteer training and on event day as well as assisting with a recognition plan for the Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History in Regina.

The goal is to ensure that the Walk has sufficient numbers of volunteers leading up to, and for the day of the event. The volunteers should be provided with a positive and meaningful volunteer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Working with the Walk/Event Chair and Event Committee to assess volunteer needs and develop a plan to recruit and deploy sufficient volunteers in each key area to execute a safe and successful event
  • Create a volunteer schedule in conjunction with the overall logistics schedule
  • Train and assign specific positions to the event volunteers and follow-up
  • Provide volunteers with a position description and details about the event
  • Send reminders to volunteers about the event
  • Coordinate any necessary training for event weekend volunteers, and well as set up Volunteer Check In and Volunteers waiver documents
  • Collect and record volunteer information for database purposes
