Apathy into Action

The 7th annual Apathy into Action Social Justice Conference will take place January 23th-25th! The event features two full days of sessions on various issues impacting local community, followed by one day of skills training that equips participants to better respond to community issues. This year, sessions will cover a variety of issues such as the university bus pass campaign, housing and renters’ rights, social justice and religious allies, conceptions of social justice among Christian social studies teachers, scientific literacy, investigative techniques for citizens, food sovereignty, and becoming an activist. The full-day training sessions include a session on anti-oppression with Dr. Mike Cappello and a session on creative fundraising with Shawn Fraser. Everyone who attends the anti-oppression training session will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the session. The session also counts towards Positive Space Network Training. All sessions are FREE and open to students and the public!
