In our culture we tend to associate knowledge with science and belief with religion. In reality, however, scientists rely heavily on belief and religion makes claims of knowledge. In his lecture, Dr. Adam Hincks, SJ, will give some thoughts on the intimate relationship between knowledge and belief, and discuss their distinct link to faith. Adam Hincks, SJ, obtained a doctorate in physics from Princeton University, and completed his seminary studies in philosophy at Regis College, University of Toronto. He is a Canadian Jesuit in formation and a research astrophysicist at the University of British Columbia.
