LECTURE: Professor Ajay Heble, leading scholar in improvisation studies and director of the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation (IICSI). TITLE: “Rethinking the Places We Look for Knowledge: Improvisation, Partnership, and Social Change” TIME: 7 PM, this Tuesday April 8, 2014 at RC050. This event is part of the Fine Arts Presentation Series PRE-TALK RECEPTION: 5:30-645 PM in the Riddell Crush area, near the main Riddell Centre entrance RECEPTION DETAILS: Please join us for a glass of wine and snacks, music by members of the University of Regina iPad Orchestra, and a chance to meet Professor Heble. This has been organized to allow everyone (including those who can not attend the lecture itself due to teaching commitments) a chance to meet our guest, and to hear about the new research centre at the University, the Regina Improvisation Studies Centre. This centre is part of a 2.5 million dollar SSHRC partnership investigating the cultural implications of improvisation in the arts and social sciences. We hope you can drop by!
