When Ouafaa Eladmi and her family moved to Canada three years ago, she knew they were embarking on a transitional period that might require some sacrifices, one of them being the Christmas season. The family, originally from Casablanca, Morocco, first had to adapt to their new surroundings. The move from a big city to a small town such as High River, Alta., was a significant change. With no family or many friends around, Ouafaa was expecting a toned-down Christmas.

The BMO Real Financial Progress Index reveals 65% of Canadians plan to give back to their community this holiday season, despite rising costs and economic uncertainty. The Index was developed based on a survey of 2500 adults conducted by Ipsos in Canada and the U.S.

The City of Greater Sudbury, through the 2025 Greater Sudbury Arts and Culture Grant program, awarded grants to 37 recipient projects and organizations. In total, $587,577 was invested in support of Greater Sudbury’s creative and cultural industry.

The Community Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025 G. Murray and Edna Forbes Foundation Fund grants. This year the Fund supported 33 charitable programs for a total of $505,704.68. The fund is intended to support general charitable purposes in the South Saskatchewan Area.

The Canadian Football League (CFL) has announced a significant new partnership with World Vision Canada, a global relief, development, and advocacy organization. This alliance aims to reach out to CFL's expansive fan base to create meaningful changes in the lives of children living in high-risk regions around the globe.
