Helping children reach their full potential can lead to positive community outcomes like reduction in poverty and unemployment, safer schools and neighborhoods, and a new generation of civic-minded adults.   Since 1971, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Regina & Area has been making a positive difference in the lives of Regina’s youth by developing and implementing a broad range of mentoring programs for both in-school and outside of school. Serving as role models, our mentors teach by example the importance of giving and giving back, of staying in school and of having respect for family, peers, and community. Each time we pair a child with a mentor, we start something incredible. A life changing relationship built on friendship, trust, and empowerment. We believe every child should have the opportunity to reach his or her potential – both as individuals and as citizens. – Also, that by doing so, they will not only do well, they will also do good. Witnessing the transformation of a child into a confident, concerned and motivated young person is a remarkable thing. Ushering them into adulthood, seeing them grow into a successful, responsible member of the community and society at large is, even more, satisfying. Proudly, it is something our staff, volunteers and donors help make happen every day, and we are very grateful for their generosity and support. We are Big Brothers Big Sisters of Regina & Area, and we believe in the value and values of mentoring.

Argyle North Community Center  provides many sports programs and craft classes  for children and adults in the community,  and we also have  a day care center and a before and after school programs. We are located in the north end of Regina and includes the subdivisions of Argyle Park, Englewood Park and Hawkstone. We are a small, close-knit community perfectly suited to a family oriented lifestyle. Argyle North Community Association  host many events through out the year;  Santa Pancake Breakfast, Semi-Annual Trade and Craft Shows, Family Fun Days, Easter Hunts, and a free BBQ at our Family Fun Festival. The Regina Sexual Assault Centre is an inclusive, non-profit organization of trained counsellors and advocates who are dedicated in helping reduce the risk of interpersonal violence and sexual assault.  Our services include in office counselling, 24-hour crisis line, and community education.

The Saskatchewan Cerebral Palsy Association is a registered nonprofit charity focused on helping individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities in the province of Saskatchewan.  Our mission is to ensure individuals with cerebral palsy the right to opportunities to achieve their fullest potential through education, health care and access to all amenities of the community.

Flow Community Projects is a new organization to Regina poised to create better community.

RRRC Community Based Day Program is a supportive program for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The program is intended to help individuals foster and enhance their abilities and confidence in personal and community activities thereby promoting inclusion. Our major focus at RRRC is to become involved in and to contribute to the local community. We are looking for business and individuals with skills they are excited to share to volunteer with us and teach our members some new skills, or activities while developing new relationships with community members. If you have a skill, or just extra time to share we want to hear from you. Our program runs Monday to Friday 9:30 to 2:30. Applicants to volunteer with us will be required to supply a criminal record check and a vulnerable sector check.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 001 (Regina) is committed to making a difference in the lives of Veterans and their families, providing essential services in our communities, and remembering the men and women who sacrificed for our country. The Regina Branch has excellent facilities for providing a supportive social atmosphere for Veterans and all members, with a cafeteria and lounge and regular events.  We offer a variety of activities and services through the Branch, including programs for youth, the Ladies' Auxiliary, the Branch Museum and special events.

Go to any major city in Canada and you’ll find a milk bank, all not-for-profits, with a very simple mission: to provide women and children with the help and support they need. Unlike men, women have the unique capacity to give birth. In Canada, an estimated 25,000 to 35,000 babies are born pre-term per year, but those numbers are not contained to just one country. Premature pregnancies are a global issue, affecting almost 15 million babies globally and premature birth is the leading cause of infant mortality worldwide. Pre-term births in Canada have also increased by 20% in the past 2 decades. Though not all mother’s who deliver prematurely struggle to produce enough milk for their newborns, many unfortunately do. And while other options exist, such as organic and homemade formulas or goat and coconut milk, breast milk is still considered to be one of the best sources of nutrition for a newborn, as it can protect many pre-term babies from serious life-threatening illnesses and infections. So, what is a parent to do if they lack access to an adequate source of natural breast milk? The answer is donated breast milk. But where, exactly, can parents find donated breast milk? Milk banks. Unfortunately, their numbers are low, contained to only four Canadian cities – Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and Montreal – while the need for their services continues to grow…

Regent Park Community Association is a small group of people that is devoted to enhancing and improving life and a sense of community in Regina and in the Regent Park area.   It is a fun, non-formal group that has wonderful volunteer incentive programs. This volunteer work is very rewarding, fun, and easy!
