Next Gen Action Council Leadership Opportunities
Role Details
The Canadian Cancer Society's Next Gen Action Council is recruiting for three distinct leadership portfolios:
- Brand Engagement Lead
- Mission & Advocacy Lead
- Fundraising Lead
These volunteer leadership opportunities support and report to the Next Gen Action Council Co-Chairs and work collaboratively across all Council priorities. Each role brings a unique perspective while contributing to a shared goal of engaging and empowering the next generation of cancer advocates, supporters, and changemakers.

Help shape the future of cancer impact for the next generation.
As a member of the Next Gen Action Council, you'll bring the perspectives, ideas, and energy of Gen Z and Millennials to the Canadian Cancer Society. Whether your interests lie in storytelling and engagement, mission awareness and advocacy, or fundraising and community-building, you'll play a key role in helping CCS connect with younger audiences in meaningful and innovative ways.
Working alongside fellow Council members and Co-Chairs, you'll help ensure the voices and priorities of the next generation are reflected in CCS programs, campaigns, and strategic initiatives.
Why We Need You
Council members help to:
- Bring the Next Gen perspective to how CCS engages with younger audiences.
- Contribute ideas that strengthen awareness, advocacy, fundraising, and community engagement efforts.
- Support initiatives that connect Gen Z and Millennials to the CCS mission and impact.
- Raise awareness of cancer prevention, research, advocacy, and education.
- Help create engaging content, campaigns, events, and opportunities that inspire action and support.
- Bring diverse perspectives, lived experiences, and new ideas to Council discussions and initiatives.
- Collaborate with Council leadership and fellow volunteers to advance shared goals.
What We're Looking For
- Passion for making a positive impact in your community.
- Interest in one or more of the following areas: branding, communications, social media, advocacy, fundraising, outreach, or community engagement.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Creative, innovative, and willing to share new ideas.
- Commitment to inclusivity, representation, and diverse perspectives.
- Enthusiasm for working with peers to create meaningful change.
- Emerging leaders aged 19 to 35.

Do you like to drive? Do you enjoy helping others?
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: You understand that cancer can change everything and you want to help people in your community get access to their Cancer treatment. You are ready to do your best to make a client’s ride to treatment one less thing they have to worry about, allowing them the space and focus to handle their journey in their own way.
You are comfortable using online tools, like email and our scheduling software and you have a valid driver’s license with 3 or fewer demerit points, drive a smoke free vehicle and be willing to undergo a criminal records check.
OUR INVESTMENT: As an organization we will provide you with training and support to prepare you for this important role. You will be supported by a Transportation Coordinator, who will be providing your driving schedule and be there to help you throughout your time on the road. You will be part of the larger Wheels of Hope team, including over 1600 volunteer drivers and many staff who share your desire to help as many people as possible get to their treatments.
